Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and his wife Tina (Rani Mukherjee) have given birth to a child. Tina soon dies due to bloody organs but before she dies she asks Rahul to name their daughter Anjali. Eight years later, Anjali read a letter that her mother had left for him shortly before her death. The letter told her daughter about Rahul's best female friend Anjali (Kajal) during college. Tina stole Rahul's heart when he joined college for the third year. However, he soon realized that Rahul and Anjali were deeply in love.
